When people ask me how I got into newborn photography, I often find myself back to the days when my own children were born. I remember being a new mom, feeling so exhausted and but desperately wanting to freeze time. Taking pictures of my babies gave me a creative outlet and something to focus on outside of the never-ending feedings and diapers.
Now, as a Hawaii newborn photographer, I get to help other moms capture those fleeting moments of infancy. I recently had the honor of photographing 10 day old Miles in his home on Oahu. Here are some of my favorite shots from our session!
Miles was an absolute dream to photograph! Mom wasn't feeling up for being photographed which I completely understand and respect. She just wanted some images of him so that's what I did. Miles did not want to miss out on any of the excitement and stayed awake the whole time. He was so calm and content and let us maneuver him every which way.

Mom had a little giraffe outfit that she wanted some photos of and we had to include some Cuddle and Kind dolls because who doesn't love a Cuddle and Kind doll. They are the cutest!

It was such a privilege to be able to capture these precious moments for Miles and his family. Newborns grow so quickly and change so much in those first few weeks – it’s amazing to be able to freeze time and preserve those memories for parents to look back on for years to come.
